What Am I Offering?
Check out What Am I Offering? on skifoozle.
The article speaks to the race for conversion and the uncertainty that we face on our journey as Christians. From the article:
While frequent “God” conversations at our house are contemplative and honest, I’m not concerned with knowing a specific date of their repentance (as though it is some task on the to-do list of faith which must be checked off.) I want them to have roots which run deep in asking questions about who God is and what that personally means for them. I want my kids to forever run after them–this triune God, to never settle for tidy, safe answers and to never become stagnant in their pursuit.
I wrote similarly in an article on Deuteronomy 5 for my Test Drive a Habit: Daily Bible Reading.
From the Deuteronomy post, I wrote:
My prayer for myself and my family is that I would be able to provide a model for my children of relationally seeking God and living out faith through questioning, study and inquisitiveness. I desire to trust and fear God enough to not worry over my children’s salvation in hopes that my children develop a sustaining, seeking faith that isn’t reliant on myself, peers, church, etc.
I think it is important to pass on a sustainable and inquisitive faith.
