Test Drive a Habit - Waking up at 6am
This month’s Test Drive a Habit is waking up at 6am everyday. This is about an hour and a half earlier than my normal wake up time.
What am I going to do with my extra time? Since I’ll now have about an hour and a half to myself, I plan on spending my time reading. I have a whole slew of books in my “to be read” pile. If I can reduce the size of my “to be read” pile then I can buy more books.
So I’ve gotten out an old alarm clock, dusted it off and figured out how to set it. I think this is the first time in over 5 years that we have had a clock in our bedroom. I’m sure my wife is dreading this month’s habit. Maybe I’ll need to get her some earplugs, so that my old school alarm doesn’t bother her too much.
I’m also excited about some of my friends taking on habits this month. They will find that it is much easier than it sounds. Routine can overcome most obstacles.

My prediction based on past experience is that this will be more difficult than it sounds. Good luck and I appreciate all that you write about…your writing has prompted me to question many items in my life.

Hey Jeff! Thanks for the comment. I’ve been putting off this habit for quite sometime as it is going to be hard to complete. So far, it isn’t the getting up at 6am that is a problem, it is the trying to fall asleep earlier that is killing me.
